On January 18th, 2016, Stuart Südekum will begin a new session of his nineteen-week, college level course on Tarot Symbolism. These lessons are designed to arm students with the knowledge required to interpret the emblems of the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot.
More than an instruction on divination, this is a general introduction to the vocabulary of images you will encounter in the wider world of the western mystical tradition. This is a 101 level course. No prior knowledge of mythology, meditation, or the occult is required to enroll.
Class size will be limited to twelve people. Classes will meet at Tarot Society Reading Room and Gallery on Monday nights from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
Stuart Südekum is a writer and educator currently residing in Brooklyn, New York. He is the co-founder of Feast of Fools, an educational event series on the art and science of mysticism. He has lectured on the western esoteric tradition for a number of organizations and institutions, including the New York School of Visual Arts (SVA), Morbid Anatomy Museum, and the Seattle Esoteric Book Conference. His writing has appeared in periodicals such as Clavis Journal and Heathen Harvest, and he is presently preparing an annotated edition of Waite’s seminal "Pictorial Key to the Tarot." He is one of our most sought after tarot readers.
